چکیده

ABSTRACT Cystic echinococcosis (CE) is a parasite-borne disease caused by the larval stage of Echinococcus granulosus belonging to family Taeniidae, an endemic disease, distributed worldwide as neglected parasite with socioeconomic repercussions. It causes severe alterations in liver infected host, and it could be fatal if untreated. The main objective present study measure evaluate condition hydatidosis slaughtered sheep Al Baha region, Saudi Arabia. A total 601 abattoirs were examined for during year 2020. Various organs presence cysts, cyst contents light microscopy. Also, sections cysts pathological host-parasite interactions. Forty-two animals (6.09%) highest prevalence summer. During gross examination, was observed that most affected organ disease. contained multiple varying sizes, filled clear slightly turbid fluid containing protoscoleces. Detailed revealed significant fibrosis around central vein, portal vein congestion, infiltration inflammatory cells, necrosis. Sections through hydatid showed three surrounding layers laminar membrane bordering lined germinal epithelium several brood capsules many protoscolesces inside supported set rostellar hooklets. Host-Parasite Relationship in Cystic Echinococcosis: An Evolving Story

The larval stage of Echinococcus granulosus causes cystic echinococcosis, a neglected infectious disease that constitutes a major public health problem in developing countries.
